The GreenTech Hub in Memmingen is more than an office building. It is a GreenTech innovation campus where startups, industry, and technology partners collaborate to accelerate sustainable innovation. Located next to Allgäu Airport, the campus provides over 5,000 m² of workspace, workshops, event areas, and innovation infrastructure designed around sustainability and future-ready building technologies (gt-hub.com)

As the first live reference project, the GreenTech Hub demonstrates how hywin transforms building performance through an integrated approach that combines facade intelligence and room automation. The building serves as a real-world operating environment where comfort, energy efficiency, and digital control work together as one connected system.

A building that proves performance starts at the facade.

The Challenge

Modern buildings often rely on separate systems for heating, cooling, shading, and room control.

This creates:

• Multiple technical interfaces
• Increased coordination effort
• Higher execution risk
• Reduced operational transparency
• Comfort issues near the facade

The GT Hub set out to prove that building performance can be delivered differently — with fewer systems, fewer interfaces, and smarter operation from the facade to the room.

The hywin Solution

ClimaTechFacade (CTF)

hywin integrated its climatechfacade system directly into the building envelope.

Each facade module combines:

• heating
• cooling
• solar shading
• intelligent control

Instead of compensating thermal loads deep inside the building, the facade manages them where they occur: at the building edge. This creates more stable perimeter zones while reducing energy demand and system complexity.

adaptIQ

The facade is complemented by adaptIQ, hywin’s intelligent building platform.

adaptIQ continuously collects real-time room data, optimizes operation, and coordinates building systems based on actual occupancy and environmental conditions. The platform connects room intelligence with facade intelligence to create one integrated building performance system.

A real comparison under identical conditions.

Unlike pilot projects built in isolation, GT Hub creates a unique benchmark. The hywin system was installed exclusively on the 4th floor. The remaining floors use conventional solutions. This allows direct comparison within the same building:

Same location.
Same occupancy.
Same operating conditions.

Different facade concepts.

For developers, architects, and planners, this creates a highly credible reference for evaluating comfort, energy performance, and operational efficiency.
